The Tan Commandments

Follow these tan commandments religiously to get a heavenly tan, fit for a goddess.

Thou Shall Exfoliate: Exfoliate your whole body before tanning to remove dead skin and any previous tanner. This will prepare your skin for an even, longer-lasting tan. If you do any waxing, do it at least 24 hours before tanning.

Thou Shall Have Bare Skin: Make sure you don’t have any moisturizer, perfume or deodorant on your skin prior to tanning.

Thou Shall Wear Loose Dark Clothing: Follow your LUXit spray tan technicians’ instructions on when to wash off the tan. It darkens over time so there is an optimal time to wash it off. When washing off your tan, do not use any soap or similar products in the shower.

Thou Shall Honour Thy Skin: Give your skin the TLC it deserves by patting yourself down gently with a towel after showering instead of rubbing.

Thou Shall Avoid Swimming and Hot Baths: Avoid long hot showers or baths, as these will shorten the life of your tan. Swimming in chlorine will also fade your tan so avoid this if possible.

Thou Shall Use Tan Extender:  You can use a tan extender to prolong the life of your tan by up to three weeks!

Thou Shall Not Use Oily Skincare Products:  Do not use skin care products containing oil after tanning. This will break down the tan and shorten its life. Even more importantly, do not exfoliate after tanning; your tan will be gone before you know it!

Thou Will Enjoy Being a Beautiful Bronzed Goddess: Enjoy being a beautiful bronzed goddess with your flawless new tan! If you’re not 100% happy with your tan, let us know! We want to make sure you receive the perfect tan every time!
